Slamaxx Kennel was founded in 1993 By Chester Slaten and Allen Howard. Slaten Dogs and Maximum Kennels joined together and they bought their first 100% Johnson American Bulldog. They Previously owned Johnson/Scott Hybrid dogs, and together they decide to go 100% Johnson only. Every Scott type dog sold was replaced by a 100% Johnson Dog. Todd Smithson sold Slamaxx’s Funky Headhunter to Slamaxx, and the legacy continues Today. Funky Headhunter was out of Rebel Rouser 2 and Bridgette. With a good foundation male it was time to find a good Johnson female, when we stumbled across Dianne Bosworth and bought Slamaxx’s Huntress. She was out of Dia’s Tuggs/Bridgette/Barney and Dia’s Princess Dia.  We then bought a female out of Turner and Bridgette and a Female from Joan Farley.  Head Hunter and Huntress were breed and we kept one male and one female out of that litter. We then bred that male Slamaxx’s Redrum, to the female we got from Joan Farley MBK Little Mickey 2. We then kept one male and one female out of that breeding. We contacted Draper’s kennels and bought two females out of Dillon and Gypsy and one male out of Dillon and Sweetie. We also contacted Ed Pickett and bought an older female by the name of Daizha. At this point that brings our grand total of 100% Johnson American Bulldogs up to 12. We lost Head Hunter to an Illness, and we lost Little Mickey to a miscarriage. These dogs will be missed.  We’ve since added another member Korey Jordan and we’re going all the way, Dog shows, OFA certifications and possibly DNA profiling. We’re demanding the best in the breed and we’re on the way to ensuring that we’re selling the best litters.
